Moonshine Story uses AI to help generate stories and illustrations. We want you to understand how that works:

Moonshine Story is designed for parents and guardians to create books for the children in their care. The user of our platform is the parent or guardian, not the child. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
When you create a book that includes a child's name, likeness, or personal details, you are doing so as the parent or guardian, and you are responsible for obtaining any consent required by your local law. If you believe a child has created an account or uploaded content without parental supervision, please contact us at support@moonshinestory.com and we will delete the account promptly.
We keep your account information and generated books for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons (for example, Stripe is required to keep payment records for a minimum period).
Reference photos uploaded for character generation follow the retention rules described in the “How AI processes your content” section above. You can opt in to 48-hour auto-deletion at upload time, or delete any photo manually from your asset library.
Moonshine Story is operated from Hong Kong. Your data is stored and processed by our infrastructure and AI providers, which operate data centres in multiple regions including the United States, the European Union, and Asia. Where personal data is transferred across borders, it is covered by our vendors' Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

We protect your data using standard industry practices: encrypted connections (HTTPS everywhere), encrypted storage, Row-Level Security in our database so each account can only access its own data, and MFA-protected administrative access. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously because we are parents using our own product.
We may update this policy as our product evolves or as laws change. If we make a material change, we will notify you by email and update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Moonshine Story after a change means you accept the updated policy.
